How long should it take to do the homework?

At HegartyMaths, we have found that student achievement and retention is best when students take the below approach to their HegartyMaths homework:

1) Watch the video through - about 10 minutes

2)  Make good quality notes - about 10-20 minutes

3) Take the assessment. Write down the question and all your workings, and also mark your work as you go - about 10-15 minutes

We would expect that a single skill, done well, would take a student between 30-45 minutes

We also recommend teachers set one or two skills per week, but this is very much up to the school to decide.
