If you’ve updated students/classes in your MIS (e.g. SIMS, Bromcom, Arbor, iSAMS) and you want these changes to appear on HM you need to run a sync.
First, go to manage classrooms then click on ‘Sync with MIS’.
Note: If the button’s greyed out, then the Wonde/HegartyMaths link hasn't yet been established - HegartyMaths will complete this as soon as we get notice that the link has been approved and initiated.
If the button instead says "Upload CSV", your school does not have an MIS integration.
Please watch the video below which explains more about the MIS link and will show you how to sync HegartyMaths with your MIS. Alternatively, read on to see the steps involved in a sync.
Sync Steps
1. Pick subjects
This is optional, just click continue if you don't want to add/remove any subjects. If any have been deleted from your MIS the sync process will show you a warning notice.
You can choose which subjects you want to import - the subjects link to the students/classes you want on the site. Just click on the subject to change the column its in. E.g. you may want to add engineering classes but remove primary maths from the site. You should only choose maths-related subjects.
2. Pick Classes
This is optional, just click continue if you don't want to add/remove any classes. If any have been deleted from your MIS the sync process will show you a warning notice.
You pick what classes you want to import (the subject they link to is in brackets). Just click on the on the class to move the column its in. If you want to bring in any new classes just click on them to add them to the right side and remove ones you don't want. E.g. if you wanted to add an engineering class, but remove your year 13 maths group.
3. Config Summary
This shows you any changes made (highlighted) if you want to undo any just click back. Otherwise, click continue to start the sync.
4. Sync
The site will now run the sync - this may take a few minutes. During this time, it will check for new/changed students. If a pupil has moved sets, or you’ve got a new student this is the point where we will find them and add/change them on HegartyMaths. It will also add all the new classes/archive the old ones.
5. Complete
Once this is complete you’ll be sent back to the manage classrooms page.
You may receive an error message similar to the ones below.
These errors are common, especially at the start of a new academic year. The messages indicate that some or all of the existing classes will be removed from HegartyMaths. Don't worry though, as they will be replaced by the new classes on your registration system. It's also worth noting that the tasks that are currently assigned to the classes listed in these messages will be deleted, however, this will not affect any data that students have accumulated from tasks they have already completed.
If you come across any further issues when updating your classes please write to us using the email contact@hegartymaths.com and our team will be happy to help.
